August 23, 2010-Brighton, CO---The Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 13th Annual Great Duck Race to be held at Prairie Center of Brighton on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 6 pm. Ducks are available for a $5 donation for The Duckling (One Duck), a $20 donation for The Quack Pack (5 ducks) or a $50 donation for The Flock (12 ducks). The proceeds will go to benefit the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce and local non-profits that the Chamber has partnered with including Almost Home, CASA, Pennock Center, Anythink Library, Legacy Foundation and Community Reach.
The duck that crosses the finish line first will be the winner of a $500 cash prize. Other prizes include $250 cash, Staycation packages valued at $200, $100 cash and $25 gift cards. Even the duck that comes in last will be rewarded with a $25 savings bond. People who attend will also have the opportunity to visit with local non-profits who are hosting carnival style games for kids of all ages, get balloon animals made and more! After the duck race everyone is encouraged to stay for the Prairie Center’s evening of Music and Movies, featuring The Blind Side.
Ducks are available at The Bagel Bakery and Cupcake Shoppe in Brighton, Milagros of Colorado and The Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce. People who are interested may also call 303-655-0223 to get their ducks.
