METRO NORTH REGION, COLO --- Over 3,200 community members attended the 10th Annual ‘Taste of the Metro North Chamber’ event hosted by Pinnacol Assurance on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Denver Merchandise Mart. The event, which was open to the public, featured thirty-four premier restaurants and beverage providers who offered ticket holders unlimited ‘tastes’ of their most popular menu items.
“I couldn’t believe how many great restaurants we have in the area,” commented Adam Best from Melco Industries, first time event volunteer and participant in the Chamber’s Leadership Program. “In addition to all the amazing food and great music, I really enjoyed the opportunity to mix and mingle with other community members.”
The event celebrated its tenth anniversary this year with free tickets to all local fire, police and emergency workers.
“We initially created this event right after the 9-11 tragedy as a way to bring the community together and recognize those fire, police and emergency workers who so unselfishly serve and protect our community,” said Deborah Obermeyer, President/CEO of the Metro North Chamber of Commerce. “We gave out over 500 free tickets to professionals from those fields as a thank you for all they do to keep us safe.”
Since the inaugural event in 2001, the ‘Taste of the Chamber’ has come to be known as the premier place to experience the ‘best of’ what this region has to offer in regards to food, beverage and entertainment.
“There is no need to drive deep into Denver for a night out on the town or a day with the family. We have fantastic options right here in our area… all open and ready for business,” added Obermeyer. “The ‘Taste of the Chamber’ highlights those businesses and encourages the community to patronize them.”
