Women With A Cause Foundation launches Play It Forward, an event to promote economic development for women. This virtual and live event is touted as Denver ’s premier talent show featuring dance, comedy, music and other performing arts. Its goal is to raise money for select homeless mothers and women veterans to attend nursing school at local universities.
“The goal of Play It Forward is to celebrate our commitment to women,” says Susan Kiely, CEO and Founder of Women With A Cause. “We are creating an innovative event that will bring smiles to so many faces, including the communities we serve.”
Colorado ’s talented everyday people have uploaded their auditions to the interactive contest at www.dailymotion.com/contest/playitforward and the votes are coming in from the community. Voting occurs through February 2. The top six acts selected by the community and the WWAC judges will perform on Friday, February 18 at the Denver Center for Performing Arts in the Seawell Ballroom.
Celebrity judges, such as Jake Schroder, Maggie Rosewell, Kirk Montgomery and Barry Fay, combined with audience participation, will choose the top three entertainers. Winners will receive cash prizes for their favorite charity or scholarship. First prize is $3,000, second prize is $1,500 and third prize is $500. Attendees will also enjoy international cuisine from Colorado 's top chefs while honoring nonprofit Unsung Heroines. The show promises to entertain and inspire you!
Celebrity judge Maggie Roswell states it best: “ Colorado not only has remarkable talent to showcase, but it also has a deep commitment to its nonprofits. We’re really excited to bring these two Colorado qualities together into one special night, all for the purpose of helping homeless mothers and veterans create careers for themselves.”
