Commerce City "We need to be sure that we are not left behind in ED..."
Will we ever see Development @ the Prairie Gateway site in Commerce City, CO??? It has been years since the Commerce City Civic Center and Rapids stadium have been built and still no economic development. I guess patience is really a virtue.

Metro North Chamber Kicks Off Salute to Small Biz

Your Metro North Chamber in partnership with The Orchard Town Center and several community partners launched a summer-long ‘Small Biz Rocks’ salute to small businesses. The campaign, which will run from June through August, 2011 will help promote the many small businesses that exist in the region, educate the community about the importance of supporting small businesses and increase the level of support provided to them.

“Small business is important to the Metro North region. Not only do small businesses contribute to the vitality of our communities by employing over half of the private workforce, they also help define the region by providing the market with a variety of choices in services and products,” said Deborah Obermeyer, President/CEO of the Metro North Chamber. “Small businesses also propel our region’s economy through the sales tax revenue they generate for our cities and state. The revenue they generate helps fuel additional jobs, education, infrastructure, development, and much, much more. “

Obermeyer added, “Your Metro North Chamber is dedicated to supporting those businesses that are critical to the success of our communities.”

The ‘Small Biz Rocks’ salute is slated to include small business YouTube Video Spotlights that will highlight many of the unique, viable businesses operating in the Metro North region, three Orchard Town Center Concerts that will pay tribute to small businesses, and a community wide Quick Response (QR) Code campaign encouraging consumers to patronize our local businesses.

Furthermore, an expo designed to connect businesses with programs and services in place to support them will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at Your Metro North Chamber Connection Center located at The Orchard Town Center. All businesses and their representatives from throughout the Metro North region are invited to attend the free expo that will include an opportunity for participants to gather valuable business information, network with each other, win great prizes and enjoy refreshments. One lucky attendee will win a $100 gift card from The Orchard Town Center.

Participating organizations include: The Small Business Development Center of Brighton and Front Range Community College; Adams County Workforce; Pinnacol Assurance; UPS; The Active Business Network; SunDrenched Vacations; MetroNorth Newspapers; Your Neighbor Magazine; Sam’s Club and much more.
