Hiring Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Depending on QualificationsCommerce City is seeking a seasoned economic development professional to serve as second-in-command for a dynamic and highly visible division within the City Manager’s Office. The Economic Development division is committed to developing a sustainable community with a diversified economic base. Responsibilities include assisting in development and implementation of programs for the attraction and retention of high quality commercial, retail, office, hospitality, and industrial businesses to the city.
The incumbent will assist in implementing the Commerce City Economic Development strategic plan and will maintain strong working relationships with businesses; prospective businesses; real estate professionals; other government agencies; and local, regional, and state economic development organizations.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, public administration, marketing, or related field. Must have at least five years of experience in economic development or a related profession. A Master’s degree and public sector experience are preferred. Good understanding of Denver regional economic development issues and state legislative processes is required. Must have strong communication skills including the ability to speak effectively and persuasively to the public and media.
